What the job looks like
Each day you’ll enjoy a variety of challenges, such as:

  • Developing and implementing a global freight forwarding strategy aligned with strategic business needs.
  • Creating, coordinating, and managing global governance (framework, policies, processes, and global procedures) to ensure compliance, efficiency, and quality across global freight forwarding activities.
  • Performing tendering, negotiating, contracting, managing, and establishing strategic partnerships with global 3PLs. Defining the global framework and guidelines for W&L 3PLs tendering and management.
  • Designing and implementing a global trade compliance framework aligned with international trade regulations and customs requirements for the GRT group.
  • Overseeing global freight forwarding operations in coordination with 3PLs, suppliers, and internal departments. Monitoring and analyzing key performance indicators (KPIs) to ensure operational excellence and continuous improvement. Ensuring optimal and efficient shipping routes and consolidation strategies.
  • Managing primary logistics costs budgeting and control.
  • Acting as the point of contact for the Global Insurance Policy, ensuring appropriate risk management measures to avoid claims, maintaining claims trend analysis, and ensuring continuous improvement. Managing insurance claims when necessary.

 

What you’ll bring to the table
To make the most of this role and truly thrive, you should have:

  • Master’s Degree or equivalent, preferably in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Experience in global freight forwarding and 3PL management, preferably in the pharmaceutical or FMCG sector.
  • Six Sigma experience desirable.
  • Strong knowledge of international trade laws and regulations and customs requirements.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with clients, suppliers, and carriers.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret data to drive decision-making.
  • Problem-solving skills to handle unexpected issues or delays in the shipment process.
  • Strong negotiation and vendor management skills to secure favorable rates and shipping routes with suppliers.
  • Fluency in English required; German, Spanish or Italian beneficial
