What the job looks like
Each day you’ll enjoy a variety of challenges, such as:
- Provide strategic leadership and direction to the Quality Control team, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the Quality Control department, including analytical testing, method validation, stability studies, and laboratory investigations.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable regulatory requirements and global standards. Co-create and implement effective and efficient processes and procedures in compliance with current Good Manufacturing Practices.
- Lead the validation of analytical methods to support product development, manufacturing, as well as release and stability testing. Stay up-to-date with new technologies and industry trends to drive innovation and efficiency in quality control operations.
- Drive efficiency programs and implement LEAN Lab.
- Collaborate with external vendors and contracted test laboratories to ensure the timely and accurate completion of testing activities.
- Develop and implement training programs for Quality Control personnel to enhance technical skills, regulatory knowledge, and compliance awareness.
What you’ll bring to the table
To make the most of this role and truly thrive, you should have:
- Degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in quality control in the pharmaceutical industry, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
- Proven leadership experience in successfully deploying cultural change.
- Experience in developing teams by empowering people, developing talent, and ensuring adequate succession management.
- In-depth knowledge of regulatory requirements and guidelines related to pharmaceutical quality control.
- Fluent English and Spanish languages
