What the job looks like

This role is responsible for leading and coordinating the planning and PO’s submission for packaging materials by converting the output of the Detailed Scheduler into daily / weekly material requirements to ensure availability of the right quantity of components to the production lines when needed and communicating the plan to the different suppliers within the agreed lead times. The  Packaging Planning Head output optimizes the flow of materials, while considering the plants warehouse capacity and inventory targets in order to eliminate potential disruptions in the storage area, minimize both storage costs and potential SLOB / Leftovers.

 

Each day you'll enjoy a variety of challenges, such as:

  •     Ensuring that all material delivery schedules are communicated to the suppliers on time in order to meet plan requirements (confirm P.Os.).
  •     Liaising with the suppliers to clarify potential plan constraints and interfaces between supplier and the key internal stakeholders until issues are solved.
  •     In partnership with procurement, tracking and reporting site level supplier service performance , communicating the information to the relevant parties.
  •     Expediting operations that delay schedules and alters scheduling to meet unforeseen conditions due to material challenges.
  •     Interfacing with QA and warehouse staff regarding rejected/defective materials, making the necessary physical arrangements with the supplier to ensure a prompt return of goods or disposal.
  •     Managing potential abrupt deviations to the plan assessing with the suppliers the feasibility of the changes, rapidly highlighting to the affected internal stakeholders if the changes are not possible.
  •     Liaising with warehouse staff to understand and adhere to space constraints, managing inventory levels within agreed targets.
  •     Enabling meeting inventory targets.
  •     Providing material supplier input to the S&OP process, including delivering RCCP for material suppliers, to allow for transparency of risks and opportunities.
  •     Effectively partner with all internal and external business partners.
  •     Responsible for continuous improvement of the process supported.
  •     Managing the Material Phase In Phase Out processes.

 

 

What you'll bring to the table

To make the most of this role and truly thrive, you should have:

  • University Master or Bachelors Degree or equivalent. Supply Chain Certification (APICS/ IBF) desirable.
  • 5 -10 Years related experience in Supply Chain roles.
  • Experience with ERP (SAP/APO/SNP) & Advanced Planning Systems is preferred.
  • Planning or manufacturing experience in a Medical/ Pharmaceutical or Consumer Goods industry. 
  • Ability to apply project and personal leadership to successfully achieve project, team and individual goals.
  • Ability to share knowledge and personal experience with peers. Coach others when appropriate.
  • Ability to target their communications as appropriate for the audience and make presentations to a small to medium sized audience.
  • Ability to influence others in a matrix environment.
  • Ability to challenge the status quo and evaluate processes to determine if refinements would enhance speed of results and productivity or quality &/or Ability to work with Continuous Improvement tools.
  • Data mining & reporting skills through MS Excel or equivalent.
  • Strong analytical skills – must be able to relate & compare, securing relevant information and identifying key issues.
  • Must be able to demonstrate initiative and lateral thinking to solve problem.
  • End to End Supply Chain Understanding.
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and must have a sense of urgency.
  • Strong decision-making skills.
