What the job looks like:

  • Carry out all controlling activities – Month end closings, Reporting, Forecasting, Budgeting and Long-Term Planning. 
  • Act as an active business partner for the Head of GBS ensuring corporate guidelines and controlling standards of Grünenthal.
  • Deliver and compliance of statutory/Local GAAP and Group GAAP for the GBS legal entity (Grunenthal Financial Service, Unipessoal, Lda), including signing of books as Certified Chart of Accountant. (preferred but not mandatory)
  • Tax compliance with country legal/fiscal regulation (including Transfer Pricing).
  • Define and implement local accounting standards and guidelines to guarantee compliance and fulfilment with local and group GAAPs
  • Manage SAP month-end-close and year-end-close procedures as well as fast-close operations.
  • Controlling of all function (G&A, GO, IT)
  • Procurement liaison, responsible for administrative work around purchases for the legal entity (PRs, POs, Internal Orders, etc…)
  • Lead all communication with local Tax Authorities.
  • Support the on the external and internal audits (accounting, taxes,…)
  • Provide reports and ad-hoc information to local management.
  • Manage tax compliance, requirements and deliverables and opportunities (incl. transfer price, SAF-T, etc.), seeking for optimization. Prepare country financial statements (preferred but not mandatory)


What you'll bring to the table:

  • Proven experience 3+ year and strong knowledge in controlling incl. planning, budgeting and reporting.
  • Proven experience 3+ years and strong knowledge in dealing with statutory accounts, tax requirements (EU and local) & accounting principles.
  • Professional qualification as Certified Chart of Accountant (Contabilista Certificado) (preferred but not mandatory)
  • Pro-active approach
  • Strong level of communication and collaboration
  • Focus driven, resources management.
  • Fluent in Portuguese and English. 
  • Preferably knowledge and experience with SAP
