What the job looks like
Each day you'll enjoy a variety of challenges, such as:

  • The opportunity to directly influence non-clinical safety success through collaboration with Grünenthal R&D teams, external experts and vendors. These interactions will occur across multiple locations and countries and thus location of the role is flexible
  • You will be a core member of project teams with responsibility for non-clinical safety and toxicology developing overall plans for potential novel therapeutics from candidate selection through to Phase III.
  • You will provide expert toxicology support to Grünenthal’s portfolio of approved therapeutics.
  • You will provide strategic guidance for project teams including the evaluation of conclusions and potential impact of toxicology results on both program and clinical/ regulatory strategy.
  • You will provide expert level guidance in designing and implementing preclinical safety studies at external contract research organizations.
  • You will review, summarize, interpret and integrate complex data sets across multiple disciplines and generate submission-ready documents for regulatory authorities.
  • You will interact with regulatory authorities with in-depth knowledge on your subject matter area, regulatory requirements and guidelines related to pharmacology, toxicology and nonclinical drug development.
  • You are a key member of the non-clinical safety team and contribute to overall team objectives, pursuing the best science to support development and post-marketing objectives.

  • You are looking for the opportunity to directly impact R&D success through the application of strong science, regulatory strategy and collaboration in the field of non-clinical safety. 
  • Educated to degree or PhD level in biological or pharmacological sciences or related field with at least 7 years’ experience in a drug development setting of a biopharmaceutical company
  • You have the skills to make impactful contributions to the development and post-marketing support of medicines, including the design, monitoring, and interpretation of toxicology studies to support the clinical development of candidate therapeutic agents
  • You have knowledge of nonclinical data packages needed to support clinical development and product registration
  • You have an appreciation of global regulatory processes across the various stages of clinical development, as well as the ability to craft innovative solutions within the regulatory framework. 
  • You have knowledge of GLP regulations and the capabilities to oversee contracted studies
