What the job looks like
Each day you'll enjoy a variety of challenges, such as:
- In-depth literature research about Euphorbia Resinifera, its latex production and RTX content
- Design experiments to structurally investigate potential factors influencing latex production/ content in Euphorbia Resinifera and RTX concentration in the latex (e.g. light, temperature, water, nutrition etc.)
- Design/ optimize process to extract latex from Euphorbia Resinifera
- Establish network with academia and industrial partners and execute experiments at Grünenthal´s partners across the globe
- Regular reporting of results and progress in RTX project team
What you'll bring to the table
To make the most of this role and truly thrive, you should have:
- Master of Science/ PhD (PhD not mandatory) in biology, agriculture, botany, plant physiology, biological engineering or equivalent
- Good knowledge of plant physiology and generation of pharmaceutically active ingredients from plants
- Good knowledge in process engineering
- Ideally, expertise in the area of succulents, more specifically Euphorbia plants
- Experience in setting up scientific projects
- Experience in project management and coordination
- Ideally, experience in collaborations with universities and industrial partnerships
