What the job looks like
Each day you´ll enjoy a variety of challenges, such as:

  • Acting as trusted business partner for global stakeholders up to executive level
  • Managing and owning strategies and strategic approaches for key categories in area of responsibility
  • Managing larger / key tenders and conducting negotiations with key suppliers
  • Focusing on clinical trials (phase I – III) and clinical trial supplies
  • Acts as business partner and key contact for budget holders and leadership teams and leads and drives discussions and decision-making from procurement perspective
  • Taking responsibility for assigned spend areas/ (sub-)categories, driving savings pipeline and executing and supporting strategy implementation
  • Providing functional and operational support to R&D organization
  • Contributing to change and continuous improvement initiatives in the Global Procurement context
  • Ensuring compliance to standard processes, especially tendering and contract management including document management, supports vendor due diligence process and master data management for vendors
  • Conducting analysis and reports to identify bundling effects, framework contract- and catalogue-opportunities


What you´ll bring to the table

To make the most of this role and truly thrive, you should have:

  • A University Degree in relevant field
  • Relevant practical experience of 4+ years in a comparable role or as category manager for clinical trial sourcing
  • Experience in managing and conducting negotiations as well as experience in categories close to clinical sourcing (e.g. Regulatory Affairs, invitro Biology, inVivo Pharmacology, Medical Writing)
  • Understanding of supply markets in R&D Development and experience in leading without formal line management (e.g. project teams)
  • Excellent stakeholder management & networking skills and ability to inspire and motivate others
  • Profound contracting knowledge
  • Strong analytical and excellent MS Office skills (knowledge of SAP-MM, eSourcing & other eProcurement tools)
  • Fluent in business English, German is considered beneficial
