What the job looks like
Every day you will enjoy different challenges such as:

  • Independently designing, executing, and interpreting in vitro pharmacology studies from hit identification through candidate selection, integrating data to support go/no-go decisions across discovery stage gates and, where relevant, clinical-stage programs.
  • Developing mechanistic assays to assess target biology, mode of action, and competitor benchmarks, thereby informing asset differentiation and strategic positioning.
  • Applying deep expertise in the pharmacological characterization of GPCRs, ion channels, transporters, or kinases to generate high-quality, decision-relevant data.
  • Leading external collaborations, including study design, scientific oversight, prioritization of outsourced work packages, and alignment with internal project strategy.
  • Representing Primary Pharmacology in cross-functional teams and contributing to project- and portfolio-level decisions.
  • Overseeing laboratory work while ensuring high standards of data quality, documentation, and scientific communication across internal teams and external partners.

What you'll bring to the table
To make the most of this role and truly thrive, you should have:

  • A PhD in in-vitro pharmacology, neuroscience, cell biology, or a related discipline, with at least 5 years of industry experience in drug discovery.
  • Proven experience in neuroscience, for example epilepsy or neurodegeneration. A deep understanding of neuroimmune interactions would be an advantage.
  • Strong expertise in pharmacological assay development and execution, including work with GPCRs, ion channels, transporters, or kinases.
  • Excellent analytical and quantitative pharmacology skills, with deep experience in data analysis, modeling, and interpretation.
  • A demonstrated ability to translate in vitro data into project decisions, with a clear understanding of how pharmacology supports the broader drug discovery process and quantitative translation to humans.
  • Experience working in a hybrid internal and outsourced model, including scientific oversight of external partners or CROs.
  • A structured, proactive working style, strong organizational skills, and a collaborative mindset, with strong stakeholder-management and networking skills.
  • Fluency in English, with strong communication and presentation skills.

What are some of the local benefits

  • 30 holidays, plus 6-8 bridging days and possibility to convert salary into up to 5 additional holidays
