Chemistry Team is responsible for the synthesis of biologically active screening compounds.

 

What the job looks like
Each day you'll enjoy a variety of challenges, such as:

  • Your project will focus on integrating an operating an automated synthesis platform (Chemspeed)
  • You independently design, plan, and execute reaction screenings 
  • You are responsible for programming and trouble-shooting the platform and analyzing and documenting experimental  results 
  • You independently design, plan, and execute the synthesis of small molecules 
  • You improve the synthetic accessibility of attractive lead structures by the use of automated methods 
  • You get the opportunity to learn about important principles of medicinal chemistry in a pharmaceutical company as a member of project teams
  • You actively work on your development, which is supported by a (Senior) Leader Mentor including ambition talks, coaching sessions, & performing reviews
  • You participate in common trainings for all graduates and will be part of the Global Graduate Network
     

What you'll bring to the table
To make the most of this role and truly thrive, you should have:

  • You are a recently graduated PhD chemistry student with strong practical experience in preparative organic chemistry who enjoys working in the lab
  • You have experience with automated synthesis platforms, reaction screening and Design of Experiment tools
  • You have a comprehensive knowledge in modern synthetic methodologies and the demonstrated ability to do successful research (publications in peer-reviewed journals)
  • You have demonstrated a high level of creativity and independence in solving complex scientific problems
  • You have fluent business English language skills in speaking and writing and very good German skills and have the ability to plan and manage your own work effectively
