Position Overview:
We are seeking an accomplished Head of Quality Control for our Site Aachen to define the strategic direction and shape the future of quality control operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in LEAN-lab implementation and Network initiatives, driving a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence in quality control.
What the job looks like:
1. Leadership and Strategy:
- Provide visionary leadership for the Quality Control function, defining and executing the strategic direction for quality control activities across the Aachen Site, beeing Part of the Site Leadership Team
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence through the implementation of LEAN-lab methodologies and practices
2. Quality Control Oversight:
- Implement standardized quality control processes, procedures, and best practices to ensure consistency and compliance with regulatory requirements
- Monitor and manage quality control activities at the Aachen Site, ensuring alignment with corporate quality objectives and goals
3. LEAN-Lab Implementation:
- Drive the adoption and implementation of LEAN-lab principles, methodologies, and tools to optimize laboratory processes and efficiency
- Identify and eliminate inefficiencies, waste and bottlenecks in quality control workflows
4. Excellence Network:
- Lead and participate in cross-functional Excellence Network initiatives to share best practices and drive continuous improvement in quality control and related processes
5. Regulatory Compliance & Data Integrity:
- Ensure that all quality control activities adhere to international regulatory standards, including cGMP, ICH, and pharmacopeial requirements
- Ensure the integrity and accuracy of quality control data and documentation, adhering to Good Documentation Practices, robust data management and archiving systems
6. Resource Management:
- Manage and allocate, in close collaboration with the Site Director, resources including personnel, budget, and equipment, to meet quality control objectives efficiently and effectively
- Foster talent development and succession planning within the quality control teams
To make the most of this role and truly thrive, you should have:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in pharmaceutical sciences, chemistry, or a related field
- A minimum of 3-5 years of progressive leadership experience in quality control within the pharmaceutical industry
- Expertise in LEAN-lab implementation and continuous improvement methodologies, with a demonstrated ability to drive cultural change
- Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements and guidelines applicable to quality control
- Excellent strategic thinking and decision-making abilities
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across diverse teams and cultures
- Strong project management skills and the ability to prioritize and manage multiple initiatives simultaneously
- Profound Experience with quality control operations and standardization
