What the job looks like

Each day you´ll enjoy a variety of challenges, such as:

  • Lead and manage a global organization for Analytical & Manufacturing Sciences with teams in Germany and Latin America
  • Steer activities with regard to Drug Product Development, Analytical Development, scale-up, industrialization, transfer to commercial manufacturing and troubleshooting (e.g. investigation and elucidation of impurities and degradation products)
  • Build and continuously improve scientific expertise and technology portfolio through e.g. appropriate staffing, training, adaptation of in-house infrastructure (equipment and technologies)
  • Build and maintain effective interfaces and co-operation with relevant functions, e.g. QA, Project Management, Manufacturing Sites, R&D, Business Development, IT  to ensure and continuously improve efficiency, operational excellence and effectiveness
  • Ensure multi-project and resource planning including budgeting and budget tracking
  • Assume responsibility of continuous people development through e.g. personal development plans, coaching, team building and development measurements


What you´ll bring to the table

To make the most of this role and truly thrive, you should have:

  • University degree in Pharmacy, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or equivalent, PhD preferred
  • Profound experience in relevant functions, e.g. Manufacturing Science & Technology, Formulation and/ or Analytical Development and Pharmaceutical Manufacturing of at least >5 years
  • Proven deep knowledge and background in the pharmaceutical/ biopharmaceutical industry with a track record on product and process improvements
  • Considerable experience in leading global and complex organizations
  • Enthusiastic Leader with strong influencing and communications skills to interact effectively across functional, geographic and cultural boundaries
  • Dynamic personality with high levels of agility, creativity, enthusiasm and commitment
  • Fluent in Business English, additionally, German and Spanish language skills are preferred
  • Ability and willingness to travel 
  • Location: Aachen, Germany or Santiago, Chile
