What the job looks like
Each day you´ll enjoy a variety of challenges, such as:
- Supporting Risk evaluation of handling activities with hazardous substances (worker safety & environment protection) using the ChemRADE software and the Advanced REACH Tool
- Supporting functional units in design, implementation, maintenance and optimization of adequate control measures to reduce exposure to hazardous substances (substitution or technical, organizational, and personal control measures)
- Supporting occupational hygiene monitoring activities in order to assess the efficacy of the control measure
- Defining valid OEL-values or OEB classifications and PDE values for substances which are handled
- Maintaining a global OEL & PDE list on the intranet site of Grünenthal as well as maintaining expertise for Industrial Hygiene by participation in (inter)national congresses and symposia
- Coordinating the creation of new MSDS’s and maintenance of MSDS’s for applicable Grünenthal products/intermediates
- Supporting the creation of Workplace Instruction Cards (WIC’s) for substances and mixtures
- Leading REACH registration process of substances whenever is applicable as well as representing Grünenthal in IH networks of national and international pharma companies
What you´ll bring to the table
To make the most of this role and truly thrive, you should have:
- University degree in Natural science studies, engineering studies or comparable
- Certification for Industrial Hygienist and good knowledge of, and practical experience in Industrial Hygiene
- Proven experience in working in a highly matrixed environment and track record in managing multiple conflicting priorities and projects
- Good knowledge of, and experience in the application of technical solutions to protect employees form hazardous substances as well as in toxicological evaluation of chemical substances
- Fluency in business English and in German language; Spanish is appreciated
- A high level of commitment and a structured and independent way of working combined with analytical thinking, team spirit and service orientation and willingness to travel from time to time
- Actively seeks diverse input and contributions when designing solutions
