What the job looks like
Each day you’ll enjoy a variety of challenges, such as:

Oversees the global E2E freight forwarding operations ensuring a timely, compliant, efficient and cost-effective deliveries in compliance with applicable regulations e.g. GDP, IATA, etc.

Acts as trusted business partner for Global Stakeholders in area of responsibility

Has a comprehensive understanding of Global Operations stakeholder functional goals, of their scorecard and business strategy

Has a deep understanding of supply markets and is the market expert for all modes of transport

Selects, negotiates and manages contracts with strategic 3PLs

Drives operational excellence in area of responsibility; contributes on change, continuous improvement and sustainability initiatives. Implements data driven decision making for optimizing routes, freight costs and LSP performance.

Provides functional guidance to Global Supply Chain operatives and wider project teams around operational activities and intervenes directly when necessary

Supports stakeholders in Global Marine Insurance Policy matters

Supports the sourcing activities of Global Procurement in transportation area

Has the full understanding and control of costs in scope

Develops risk mitigation and contingency plans for emergency response

Maintains required personal certifications (eg. Dangerous Goods…)
What you’ll bring to the table
To make the most of this role and truly thrive, you should have:
- Degree – preferably in business, supply chain or logistics
- Relevant practical experience of at least 5 years in a comparable role or at an international freight forwarder in at least a team leader position
- Strategic and practical tactical expertise in international logistics processes
- Deep knowledge of international trade regulations, customs procedures and Incoterms
- Experience with GDP, INCO terms and/or narcotics regulations
