What the job looks like
Each day you'll enjoy a variety of challenges, such as:

  • Serve as Compliance Officer for the Headquarter including all headquarter functions and employees on all levels and act as their trusted business advisor for the whole range of day to day compliance advisory
  • Lead and manage global projects to continuously improve an excellent Compliance management system such as implementation of new legal requirements throughout the entire group and across different channels and jurisdictions
  • Oversee and execute a comprehensive program to ensure Compliance in the supply chain, especially with regards to the German supply chain act
  • Drive the harmonization of the Compliance processes throughout the entire group and provide direct leadership for one senior colleague
  • Coordinate all different functions across the organization (esp. audit and risk management) to develop and elope Compliance mechanisms and their perception within the organization including Partner Business, Licensing, and Global Operations/supply chain functions and align them with the Compliance strategy
  • Coordinate all Compliance related processes and regulations (COC, guidelines and alike) and lead the control management; including the legally binding commitment of every Grünenthal employee worldwide
  • Safeguard Compliance in special projects such as transactional due diligence
  • Act to mitigate risks related to third parties that sell, resell and/or promote products developed or manufactured by Grünenthal, whether the products are sold/promoted under Grünenthal name and brands or not, including risks related to anti-corruption, anti-money laundering, anti-trust, anti-competition, fraud, embezzlement, accounting issues, conflicts of interest, data protection, sanctions and trade compliance


What you'll bring to the table
To make the most of this role and truly thrive, you should have:

  • Law degree (J.D. equivalent) required, post-graduate level preferred; Compliance certification preferred, additional degree in Business favourable
  • 10+ years of Compliance and/or Legal experience in a multicultural setting
  • 5+ years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry is a major advantage
  • Leadership experience is an advantage
  • Experience conducting and/or coordinating trainings, due diligences and internal investigations
  • Solid knowledge and experience on maintaining business partner Compliance programs
  • Fluent in English and German
  • Willingness to travel up to 15% of the time
  • Excellent planning, organization and communication skills
  • Excellent project management skills (first M&A expertise is an advantage)
  • Strong analytical skills with precise and structured approach to work
  • High level of accountability 
  • Proven experience in conflict management 
  • Extensive stakeholder management and influencing skills, building positive relationships and demonstrating assertiveness
