What the job looks like

Each day you´ll enjoy a variety of challenges, such as:

  • Providing expert input to advance and deliver a project from therapeutic design to successful proof-of-concept clinical trial
  • Working collaboratively within a highly matrixed, entrepreneurial environment with internal colleagues and external CROs to deliver innovative approaches in oligonucleotide therapeutics including but not limited to antisense RNA, RNA editing and mRNA therapeutics
  • Optimizing uptake and trafficking of RNA therapeutics with novel delivery metholds to cell types involved in the pain pathway
  • Leveraging a deep knowledge in mRNA platform development, LNP design and formulation, advanced mRNA characterization, process optimization for discovery and development programs
  • Building an external network of collaborations to gain access to the best scientific thinking around the exploration and development of innovative approaches to next generation therapies for Grünenthal's pan portfolio

 

What you´ll bring to the table
To make the most of this role and truly thrive, you should have:

  • A collaborative spirit with an interest in discovery and development of novel analgesic therapies for chronic pain disorders
  • Ph.D. with >10 years of pharmaceutical industry experience. Degree emphasis in neuroscience, molecular biology, biochemistry or related field
  • Strong foundational knowledge of RNA biology, biochemistry, structural biology and transcriptional/translational mechanisms of gene expression
  • Experience in the design and understanding of modern synthetic methods used in the solid phase oligonucleotide synthesis, novel nucleoside/nucleotide chemistry, manufacturing and purification of oligonucleotides
  • Fluent English language skills in speaking and writing in addition to good communication skills
