What the job looks like
Each day you'll enjoy a variety of challenges, such as:
- Supporting the negotiation leader in licensing, out-partnering and M&A deals as team member, e.g. via steering/coordinating dedicated work streams
- Leading and steering negotiations for smaller licensing, out-partnering and M&A deals
- Project leadership for those deals, coordinating/challenging the business case development, steering the project core team during the entire process, including due diligence - and preparing, coordinating and steering contract negotiations, in close alignment with corporate legal or external legal support
- Prepare memos and presentations or support the preparation of these documents for the executive board for decision making
- Represent Grünenthal at meetings and conferences & foster relationships
The range of responsibilities will be worldwide, across regions and across different indications, ranging from late stage R&D projects to marketed products and brands.
What you'll bring to the table
To make the most of this role and truly thrive, you should have:
- University degree in economy, medical or scientific studies required, MBA preferred
- Relevant experience in Business Development, Licensing and M&A of at least 3-5 years including first-hand project leadership skills and proven track-record of concluded smaller deals
- Experience in different deal structures and forms
- Good negotiation skills
- Proven strategic and analytical thinking ability as well as financial acumen with respect to execution of different types of business transactions
- Good background and understanding of Life Sciences and sound experience in pharma R&D cooperations
- Ability to work in a highly confidential and time-sensitive, high pressure project environment with direct interaction with Senior Management
- Fluent English negotiation skills as must have, German and Spanish skills preferred
- Strong team player, having fun to work in strong cross-functional teams, regionally and internationally
- Willingness and ability to travel worldwide
